Christmas in the Village returns to Navarre

The 11th annual Christmas in the Village will return to historic Navarre on Nov. 11 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring a parade, trolley rides, live reindeer, artist demonstrations, food trucks, prizes and many more events throughout the village.

Fourteen local businesses also are participating in the festivities offering Christmas merchandise and free refreshments at some of the locations. Shoppers may pick up a passport at any of the participating businesses and get it stamped at all of the locations listed for a chance to win one of several gift baskets, and historical buildings will be open to the public.

Participating businesses will have Christmas open houses each day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. They include Exceptional Accents, 101 Canal St. W.; Anderson’s in the Village, 97 Canal St. W.; Mathew’s House Museum, 123 High St.; Art Gallery of Billy Jacobs, 28 Canal St. W.; Manely Antique Mall, 9 Canal St. W.; Real Deal Discount, 5 Canal St. W.; Den of Antiquities, 1 Canal St. E.; The Retro Ward, 5 Canal St. E.; Hello Beautiful Vintage, 7 Canal St. E.; Spikes Woodcrafts, 225 Main St. N.; JD Define Building, 202 Market St. (Altercare Countrylawn and Altercare Navarre); Barry Askren Branch Library, 1200 Market St.; ERC Art & Oddities, 911 Main St N.; and KJ’s Alpaca Ranch, 7476 Shepler Church Ave. SW.

Friday will be the first chance to see all the new Christmas items. Saturday will be filled with events for all ages. A trolley will run throughout the village from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be food trucks, cookies and hot cocoa at many locations, as well as a fiber art demo at KJ Alpaca Ranch and visits from Santa.

Other Saturday events include the following: the parade at 10 a.m., a live pottery demo at Exceptional Accents with local artist Susan Nolt-Banks on both Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Christmas Cookie Decorating at St. Paul’s UCC from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Storytime at Barry Askren Branch Library at 11 a.m., live music at The Den of Antiquities with Tim & amp and TJ Gang from 11 a.m. to noon, Meet Santa’s Reindeer at Barry Askren Branch Library from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Storytime at Barry Askren Branch Library at 1 p.m.
