Broadband survey seeks participants

The Tuscarawas County Economic Development Corporation is asking all Tuscarawas County residents, businesses and farmers to fill out a five-minute survey about broadband internet access across the county.

“This will be very helpful as we build a strategy to expand broadband access to everyone,” said John Kelly, director of business development and administration at the Tuscarawas Economic Development Corporation. “The more responses we get, the better data we have to work with internet service providers to expand access. More responses from more mailing addresses gives a better picture of where we need to improve our broadband access across the county.”

A gift card can be won for filling out the survey.

“We understand the growing need for reliable internet access. Whether remote learning, virtual doctor visits or work-from-home opportunities, every home, business and farm should have reliable internet access that can handle the demands of multiple devices,” said Marla Akridge, executive director of the Tuscarawas Economic Development Corporation. “Due to previous surveys and resident input, it is evident that not every Tuscarawas County resident, business and farmer has reliable broadband internet accessibility. We are currently partnering with BroadbandOhio to create a comprehensive strategy to bring better internet speeds to areas of Tuscarawas County that need it the most. However, we cannot do that without your help.”
