Music Under the Stars Aug. 5-6

Music Under the Stars, to be held Aug. 5-6, is the third of a three-series event named Art Under the Stars, held this year for the first time and sponsored by Berlin Main Street Merchants and Holmes Center for the Arts. The first two events were Dancing Under the Stars June 17-18 and Theater Under the Stars July 8-9, produced by Holmes Center for the Arts.

These events are being held at the Berlin Community Park, 5481 Elm St., in an effort to accommodate a large crowd, to broaden the weekend entertainment in the community for local residents and tourists, and to showcase the HCA.

Music on the Square, a favorite Berlin event, will move from the Berlin Square to the Berlin Community Park for Aug. 5-6. The event will open with a local band at 6 p.m., and there will be food trucks, inflatables for all ages, yard games, face painting, line dancing and more. The park will open at 5 p.m.

Music Under the Stars will present The Young Fables from Nashville, Tennessee, a duo comprised of three-time American Idol vet Laurel Wright and Gretsch-endorsed guitarist and vocalist Wesley Lunsford. The team is best known for their appearance on USA’s showcase television series, “Real Country,” featuring Shania Twain. TYF will perform from 8:30-10 p.m.

Tickets are available at www.holmescenterforthearts.org/under-the-stars or www.visitberlinohio.org under the Events tab. The series is intended to be an annual event and potentially a fundraiser for Berlin Main Street Merchants and Holmes Center for the Arts, both nonprofit organizations.
