The Holmes County District Public Library is holding events and programs in September. Call the library at 330-674-5972 for more information or to register for any of these events.

A September craft kit for teens is available at the Central Library or East Branch Library. The kit includes materials such as felt, embroidery floss and faux greenery to create a landscape scene from a book. This kit can be used in a program held Sept. 8.

Preserve It! Part 3 with Kate will be Tuesday, Sept. 6 at6 p.m. at the Central Library. In the last class of a three-part series about preserving food, Kate Shumaker, OSU Extension educator, will share information and options for preserving meat. Registration is required for this adult program.

Storytime at the East Branch will be Wednesdays, Sept. 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 10:30 a.m. for children age 2-5 with an adult for stories, activities and songs.

Bookscapes Craft Workspace for Teens will be Thursday, Sept. 8 from 5-6 p.m. at the Central Library. This craft event is for age 12-18 and uses the September craft kit. Additional assistance and materials will be available such as craft paint. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

Storytime at the Central Library will be Fridays, Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 10:30 a.m. for age 2-5 with an adult for stories, activities and songs.

Paws to Read will be Saturday, Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Central Library. Kids will celebrate Hug Your Hound Day by reading to a licensed therapy dog from Caring Therapy Canines.

A family movie matinee will take place Saturday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Central Library. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket, snacks and a drink with a lid for this family-friendly movie. Children must be with an adult. Call the library for the movie title, rated PG.

LEGO Building Challenge will take place Monday, Sept. 19 from5:30-6:45 p.m. at the Central Library for age 6-12. LEGOs and ideas will be provided.

Dinosaur Fun at the Killbuck Community Library will be Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. Presented by the Holmes County District Public Library, children grades 1-5 will be able to explore the world of dinosaurs, make a fossil and receive a COSI Connects Dinosaur Kit.

A book discussion for adults will take place Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. at the Central Library, discussing “Salt to the Sea” by Ruta Sepetys, and at 6 p.m. at Jitters Coffee House, discussing “The Paris Bookseller” by Kerri Maher. Books are available to borrow at the Central Library.

Dinosaur Fun will be Thursday, Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. at the Central Library for grades 1-5 to explore the world of dinosaurs, make a fossil and receive a COSI Connects Dinosaur Kit. Registration is required.
