Have you ever wondered what it takes to write and publish a book? Find out on Saturday, Aug. 6 at 10 a.m. at the Wayne County Public Library’s Wooster branch with local author Marcy Campbell.

Campbell will be the library’s guest for a launch celebration of her latest picture book, “The More You Give.”

The book is about a boy who loved his grandmother, who loved him back and gives him many gifts, like hugs, and Sunday morning pancakes, and acorns with wild and woolly caps, and all her wisdom about how things grow. As the boy becomes a father, he gives his daughter bedtime stories his grandmother told him and piggyback rides. He gives her acorns and the wisdom he learned about how things grow. His daughter continues the chain, then passing down gifts of her own. It’s a picture book about the legacy of love that comes when people nurture living things — be they people or trees.

Come hear about the making of “The More You Give” and stay for crafts and activities for kids. A book-signing will follow Campbell’s presentation. All her books will be available for sale, and there will be a book raffle for several attendees.

Campbell is the author of several other books including “Adrian Simcox Does NOT Have a Horse,” “Rule of Threes” and “Something Good.” Her books have received many honors including Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection, the Readers’ Choice Book Award in Juvenile Literature from the Ohioana Library, Buckeye Children’s Book Award nominee, Bank Street College Best Book of the Year and more.
