Global Day of Giving Nov. 29

Global Day of Giving Nov. 29

United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties is gearing up for the Global Day of Giving on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

Giving Tuesday is a day that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and celebrate generosity worldwide.

Giving Tuesday is a day that encourages people to do good where they live, work and play, but this year, UWWH is adding a twist to this international day of giving. Instead, UWWH will focus on giving back ‘To You’ this year.

“Our campaign theme this year has been to ‘Just, Love.’ This means we are aiming to show those in our community how much we ‘Just, Love’ them. We really want to take time this year on Giving Tuesday to give back to our community through this play on words and celebrate ‘Giving To You sday’ this year,” CEO Katie Koglman said. “We have a variety of activities and community engagement opportunities planned for our staff on ‘Giving To You sday’ to give back our time and show love to our community throughout both Holmes and Wayne counties.”

United Way will be making appearances throughout the day in both counties, giving their time and showing support for other local nonprofits and businesses between both counties.

“We will be ringing bells for Salvation Army at Rodhe’s IGA, soliciting donations for Share-A-Christmas on WKLM and hosting a variety of live interactive games for followers via Facebook and Instagram,” Koglman said.

UWWH will be Giving ‘To You’ all Tuesday long, with giveaways including gift cards donated by local businesses and fun United Way merchandise to winners.

United Way’s campaign runs through Dec. 31, 2022. Their campaign goal is $1.65 million, and they are 48% of the way there.
